I love lemon!
Frozen Lemonade
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups ice cold water
- 1 cup crushed ice
- 6 cherries (for garnish)
Directions
- Combine lemon juice and sugar in a blender for 30 seconds.
- Blend in 2 cups water and 1/2 cup ice, then blend in remaining water and ice.
- Continue blending until mixture is slushy. Garnish each glass with a cherry.
Blueberry Lemonade
Makes 5 cups
Blueberries are teeming with taste but this easy recipe can also be used to make peach, apricot, strawberry, blackberry, or any fruit-flavored lemonade of your choice.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
- Strain mixture into a pitcher through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove any solids. Serve chilled or over ice.
Basil Lemonade
Makes 4 servings
If you love herbs, this lively lemonade recipe can be made with fresh lemon thyme, mint, lemon verbena or tarragon.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, rinsed
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 sprig fresh basil
Directions
- Combine basil and sugar in a large pitcher. Using a wooden spoon, crush basil and sugar together.
- Pour in water and lemon juice and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Let basil steep in lemonade for about one hour. When ready to serve, strain lemonade into glasses and garnish with a sprig of basil.
Glazed Lemon Pound Cake
- Prep Time 15 minutes
- Total Time 60 minutes
- Yield Serves 4
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened, plus more for pan
- 3/4 cup, plus 3 tablespoons sugar, plus more for dusting
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, plus finely grated zest of 2 lemons, plus more for garnish (optional)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan. Dust with sugar, and tap out excess; set aside. Whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir together 1 tablespoon lemon juice and the milk.
- Put butter and 3/4 cup sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix until pale and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Mix in eggs and zest. Working in two batches, alternate mixing in flour mixture and milk mixture. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until a cake tester comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
- Meanwhile, stir together remaining 3 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Upon removing cake from oven, immediately brush with lemon glaze. Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes. Unmold cake. Brush remaining glaze on top. Garnish with zest.

A fun game!
Here's how to do it:
You pick ten Disney Characters. Then right down all the questions below. Then answer them as you think they should be answered. For example if I picked
1. Prince Charming - Cinderella
2. Fauna - Sleeping Beauty
3. Winnie the Pooh - Winnie the Pooh
etc.......
And the first question was:
1. If #1.(You would write Prince Charming, because he is your first character) was teaching #2.(Fauna) and #3(Winnie the Pooh) something, what would he/she be teaching them, and who would do it the best?
(then you write your answer) He would be teaching them how to dance. And I think Fauna would learn the fastest, because she seems more light feet than Pooh.. if you know what I mean. =)

Now here's mine:
1. If you had #1(Cinderella) and #7(Perdita) over for dinner, what would you serve them and how would you entertain them?
I would serve them tea! Because that's what Cinderella serves, and Perdita is English. And after all... we all know the English love tea!
2. #6(Anita) and #8(Edna Mode) are going to sing a duet. What is the title of the song they will sing? (It can be an actual song or one you make up)
"A Woman's Touch!" (that's the only thing they have in common.)
3. #2(Mary Poppins), #4(Lumiere), and #9(Jimmy Bean) are on a quest. What is the purpose of their quest, and who is the leader?
To rescue Cogswoth at the top of a tree. Jimmy Bean is their leader because he knows all about climbing trees! Mary Poppins might get there first though, because she can fly! Jimmy Bean might get there first 'cause he's the best climber! But Lumiere might get there first because Cogsworth is his friend, by hopping up the tree limbs! Who do you think will reach him first???
4. Who would make a better librarian, #3(Susan) or #10(Mickey Mouse)?
Probably Susan.. although Mickey Mouse would be a fun librarian.
5. It's the final showdown of a Disney film. #7(Perdita) has to defeat #4.(Lumiere) How will he/she do it?
Probably by pulling a rug, which tosses him into the fire. (although I don't think Perdita would ever do such a thing, unless he was trying to take her puppies, of course)
6. #6(Anita) is holding a job interview. The interviewees are #9(Jimmy Bean), #3(Susan), and #8(Edna Mode). What is the job they are interviewing for, and who will get the position?
To find her dogs, Pongo, Perdita, and their puppies. I don't know who would get it, but I guess Edna Mode. Because she has been around super heros long enough to know how to rescue someone.
7. In a sword fight between #1(Cinderella) and #5(Happy), who would win?
Hard to say. I guess Cinderella. Happy is too nice to sword fight.
8. In a musical number, what sort of dance would #10(Mickey Mouse) perform while singing?
Well I like him as the old Mickey Mouse, soo... I guess the Charleston.
9. Who would make a better babysitter, #5(Happy) or #2(Mary Poppins)?
Mary Poppins. After all she has, had experience with children
10. Once upon a time, in a faraway land, #9(Jimmy Bean) dreamed of a different life than the one she/he had. Meanwhile, in another part of the land, #7(Perdita) and #5(Happy) were imprisoned and trying to escape. They were in the clutches of the sinister #2(Mary Poppins), who refused to show any mercy.
One day, #4(Lumiere) passed by the dungeon where #7(Perdita) and #5(Happy) were held captive and heard their cries. Moved with compassion, he/she vowed to not rest until he/she had done everything in his/her power to rescue them. With that, #4(Lumiere) rushed off to get help.
The first people (or characters) #4(Lumiere) came across were #1(Cinderella), #6(Anita), and #10(Mickey Mouse), who were involved in a street faire. #4(Lumiere) told the others of the plight of #7(Perdita) and #5(Happy), and they were determined to help! They decided to go to the nearest village to get the supplies they would need for such a rescue.
The nearest village was, of course, the village where #9(Jimmy Bean) lived. When he/she saw the others so hard at work, #9(Jimmy Bean) asked what they were doing and was told of their quest. Instantly, #9(Jimmy Bean) broke into a spontaneous song, detailing that this was what he/she had been waiting for all of this time. Then #9(Jimmy Bean) joined in their rescue effort.
On their way back to the dungeon, they were confronted by #8(Edna Mode), who had been hired by the villainous #2(Mary Poppins) to stop them. Just when they thought all was lost, #3(Susan) appeared on the horizon...
What happens next? ;)
Her twin sister Sharen had been hired by Mary Poppins as well, so she was able to trick Mary Poppins into giving her the keys to the dungeon. But Edna Mode was not fooled. She wanted to stop them, but how. Just then she called Mr. Incredible to come and help. But he wouldn't get there fast enough, so he sent Violet with Dash running in her force feild ball. Soon after, Edna saw them coming. They hadn't a momment to loose, because Susan had just unlocked the dungeon door. Dash, as quick as he could, built a wooden wall to block them from escaping. Lumiere could burn it down, but Edna, Dash and Violet were standing infront of it. Anita, Cinderella, Susan, and Mickey Mouse destracted them by singing. While Jimmy Bean grabbed Lumiere and lit the wall. It burned down and they made their escape. And they all lived happily ever after! The End!
